Bench Barroco is a modern interpretation for Baroque, which the word was derived from the Portuguese word barroco (meaning “irregular pearl”). The forms of the bench legs were inspired by Louis XIV styled furniture legs. The piece inherits the “dramatic” quality from the baroque period, but was moving away from the masculine energy. It is more feminine, light, and elegant.

The piece is constructed entirely in wood. The top part of the bench was hand carved and sanded. The four legs were turned on the lathe and then carved to achieve the final organic form. The bench was finished with a white wood stain mixed with pearlescent powder.
